The Lien of Seconds

The Lien of Seconds ,
borrowed from Higher Power,
Just to fulfill my duties as a mother.
Every moment is a dangerous dance,
Between me and my adversery.
He comes in a black cloak ,
Unmoved by any emotion.
I watch him trying to catch me ,
Slightest touch & I lose.
I Lose & he claims my soul.
Every moment is my bonus,
Every lil' second a big plus.
At times dance is painful ,
With feet tired , body giving up.
But then I see a smiling face ,
Feel the warmth of hug of small arms,
'Mama' the best music to my ears.
I straighten my back, stand strong ,
& Continue the dance .
The Lien of these borrowed seconds,
Is what I am thankful for .
