The Night

The day felt like missing hours, it just never felt real.

It was at night that I do my best to live.

I never knew if it was because of the dark, but I always felt desperate to light the embers that have kept me awake.

They come at night, the terrors and madness of what’s forgotten inside my head during the day. It was not the might of the sun that have kept them tucked inside my head.

It was simply the distraction of life that caused me to ignore the darkest thoughts, like ghosts that whisper along the corridors and darkest halls of an abandoned home.

It was at night that I do my best to live.
