THE POOR SOUL

Martina Kia 1995 (Kampala)

He doesn't know, the poor soul
That I feel everything he does,
That I saw him running away from me,
Long before his eyes first met mine,
That I could tell he wasn't listening,
When I told him how rough my edges are,
He wanted to brave the storm,
And win my whole soul,
The odds were against him,
But he wanted to try,
Our demise was inevitable,
And it's sad he had to learn the hard way.
