Analysis of June

Feeling lost in my own home,
A void filled with empty space.
Just little ole me, all alone,
In a cold and desolate place.

Too distant from the ones I love,
Too far from those I need,
Too far to feel companionship,
To fear I must concede.

For though my friends are good,
Full of love and some respect,
The ones I see are only men,
So what else could I expect.

No girls to spend my time with,
Or none I see enough,
Living life in transition,
I knew this would be tough.

what I need is me time.
A little time to be free.
A little time with my friends,
So I can be all I can be.

Ive cried myself to sleep,
When sleeping was a choice.
I've panicked over going out,
And using my own voice.

I've contemplated being mute,
Never saying one more word,
But life cannot go on that way,
The idea is quite absurd.

But the fear felt throughout my soul,
If I ever need to talk,
Fills me full of anxious pain,
Induced by those that gawk

I need to get away from here,
If only for a while.
I need to see my female friend
So she can make me smile.

A different girl in a different place,
A friend of mine for life,
A unique bond, forged over time
Through one another's strife

I've many mates (and some friends),
All special in their way,
But what I need now is girl time,
To feel comfort for a day.

These are random thoughts,
My feelings thought in tune,
Emotions crushed by fear,
In the lonely month of June.

E.S. Conway

A poet by proxy of therapy. Her works (with only a couple of exceptions) are comprised of poems written in a form of therapy diary, they served for several years as an aid to dealing with situations that may or may not be within the poems themselves. This is also the reason for so much rhyming; though not necessary for poetry, it was part of what made poetry therapeutic for her and so is an almost certain constant. more…
