Analysis of Hopeful Today, Tomorrow

Damsel Salatan 1997 (Philippines)

Those dark days,
and mournful nights;
Mad. Lost inside.
Hanging. Hold on tight.

The darkness occurs
Destroying thy belief –
Trust, confidence, faith
Little by little.

“Suicide is the answer”
She said.

Hallucinating,
Staring blankly –
The shadow’s still
Behind her.

Hiding in the dark
Looking back
Laughing,
Smiling;

Dealing with dread
Peace is deafening
Can’t leave this bed.

“Where’s she now?”
“Will she ever come back?”
She mumbled.

No one can see,
No one can hear,
They are aware
But nobody
Lend their ear.

Family,
Friends,
Everyone
Has their own
Puzzle to solve.

She assumed,
She's embarrassed
What a shame.

The hours of darkness
Woke her up,
The swollen eyes
Glared at the mirror –
Still breathing, sigh.

I know you’re hurting,
I wish they knew.
The world
Don’t deserve you.

Take time
To rest,
To heal,
To grow,
To change.

Such a long way
To finally realized –
The only person that
Can save you
Is Yourself.

Remembering
Irreplaceable,
Beautiful,
Vivid memories,
Softens her heart and soul
Strength rises from the truth.

Family –
Raised you,
Loved you unconditionally,
Accepted your flaws,
Generously provide
All you need,
Gave you wings
to fly like an angel to
Reach the heaven of success.

Friends –
People you can
Cry with, laugh,
Share your secrets.
The best moment of
Real pleasure.
They become
Your chosen family.
Be grateful.

God –
Never doubted you.
He will fight for you;
He never flees
throughout the worst
chapter of your life,
He will lead you
To the right path.
Trust his plan.

Yourself –
Self-love,
Make happiness
Your priority,
Dare to live the
Life you’ve wanted,
And dreamed for yourself.
You can, you will.

Always remember,
The greatest lessons
are usually at the
worst mistakes
And worst moments
Of our lives.

Life is short
Live with it.
Memories are treasure,
Cherish them.

All this struggle
In your life
Will lead you to
A beautiful chapter.

Be hopeful
Today, Tomorrow
And bless yourself
With love and peace.

Sunshine comes
After the rain;
Your wounds will heal
It takes time, my dear.

Tell yourself,
“I promise that I will never be that me again”
Better days lie ahead.
Focus. Believe.

Damsel Salatan

We never know how high we are Till we are called to rise; And then, if we are true to plan, Our statures touch the skies— The Heroism we recite Would be a daily thing, Did not ourselves the Cubits warp For fear to be a King— From 'We Never Know How High We Are' (1176) by Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) more…
