Analysis of Growing up Newfie!

A Newfie Girl
Born and raised
Along the shore Line
I spent most of my days

Swimming with the jelly fish
Catching many a crab
Salt water I’ve swallied a bit
But yet I didn’t feel too bad

Floating around on driftwood
Stealing Mr. Laings Rowboat
No life jackets did we have
But somehow we managed to stay afloat

In the house we were’t allowed
Ate and out the door
Until your mother called your name
And you heard her, that’s for sure

Chores were a given
And you were sure never to delay
You’d be wary of a trimmin’
Back in the good old day

Elderly in community
You treated with respect
If you back sauced anyone
A lasing you would get

With so many mouths to feed
Home made bread was never in short supply
If that’s what you got for each meal that day
You’d never ask why

Church on Sunday
Whether you wanted to or not
It mattered none how you felt that day
Or if you’d cry and snot

Hard work and discipline
we were taught
And that your family is there for you
Whether you got along or not!
