Analysis of Eraser Flesh

I listened to music while my head bumped against the window
I sat on the floor to make room for others
I jumped up in my seat when the speedbumps were hit just to gain extra air
I was so light, I almost touched the roof

I galloped and skipped down hallways because it was faster
I bit the erasers off my pencils
I collected them in the sharpener’s container
I was good at dodgeball because I was so small; nimble, good at hiding

Once I was done dragging my fingers against the white painted bricks
Once I was done feeling that texture and letting my fingertips go numb
Once I was done picking sticky tack off the walls
You crushed my fingers flat, muscle and bones becoming red paint

Once I was done eating raw broccoli and dipping pizza in ranch
Once I was done talking over my favorite shapes
Once I was done biting off erasers
You grabbed my lower jaw, middle and thumb squeezing the soft skin

before detaching it and watching
As what was my mouth
Let my tongue go limp
And taste my blood

Now my spine is parabolic
My eyes are distant from color
And theres worms in my head
that make my brain tap
And itch
And scratch

Now that you’ve laid me face down with such tenderness
Telling me that the ground before me is forwards
And caressed my hair and held my heart in your hands
And given me what you say you could

Now that I have been your child, and you, my nurturing parent
Youve placed your heel at the junction between my head and my neck
And lifted up and down with equal and opposite forces
My skull pushing back all the same

Now that my nose is between my eyes
And my eyes between my teeth
And my teeth on the floor
You tell me to pick them up

And you stare down upon me with your eyes holding nothing but future
As you tell me i can leave
