Analysis of Tomorrow
Jennifer Atkinson 1980 (Michigan)
She knew it when she saw her face,
Looked in her eyes and in any case...
She let it go, thought maybe tomorrow
"I'll see her again and comfort her sorrow"
It never came, tomorrow that is
Never thought it would come to this
Her best friend, now just a memory
But if she had talked, would she still be?
What if, she asks herself, lying in her bed
The reason were the words left unsaid?
Sadly her guilt were never die...
She didn't even get to say goodbye
The best she can do is hope and pray
That her friend came to reach a better place
That she no longer feels sad and alone
And can't wait, until she too can go home
It's too late now, but never again
Will she let something stop her from saving a friend
Words can be tricky and cause much sorrow
When you don't use them and there's no tomorrow.
