Analysis of To fathom this life disclosed
I feel a little funny,
maybe a bit crusty,
because of the whimsy feelings in my gut.
It's not very appealing
to experience what I've been seeing,
because it gives me queasy feeling in my gut.
To fathom this life disclosed.
Trouble comes repeatedly sometimes distorted,
because negativity invariably is stuck in a rut.
It's kind of stupid thinking of those yesterdays,
stumbling along this old track that lays
overgrown with moss, weeds, and wood-rot.
In contrast, I feel identical to this old railroad track,
and then how it sped us into the future...now we lack
all the morals, the virtues, and the love of the better sought.
What is this generation going to do...
forget the poor, the homeless?
My word, the Good Book says the poor wil be ceaseless,
I guess the military, the veteran, the disabled too...this burns my gut.
The thought comes to mind that civilization hasn't wrought
what my generation hoped for...but sure hasn't got.
I see the overgrown track, the moss, the weeds...
moreover I query, will they ever make the cut?
Well I'd better head back towards my home,
I've become a little to old to continue to roam,
haven't much family relationship...their to busy at life.
I don't mind being alone, but I worry for my children.
Seeing which direction the world is moving; what then?
I pray them welcome a better life than I have had; not strife.
