Analysis of I am Sandy Hook

I am Sandy Hook

I am a son to a woman.
I am a nephew to a man.
I am an uncle to a child.
I am a cousin to a young man.
I am a father to a young son.
So were they.
As I imagine the pain felt, it grows.
I know your pain.  I share your pain.
I am Sandy Hook!

It intensifies as I think of the children in my life.
It becomes unbearable as I see their faces.
Young faces, innocent faces, unsuspecting faces!
I find no solace in the words of others.
I find no relieve in the sacred words.
Less the friendly hugs of others
As I imagine the pain felt, it intensifies.
I know your pain.  I share your pain
I am Sandy Hook!

I swear I am angry.  I just am.
I swear I am outraged.  I just am.
I swear, by the seven wonders,
Something has to give
Something must give
Enough is enough.
As I imagine the pain felt, it implodes
I know your pain.  I share your pain

I am Sandy Hook
I grieve with Sandy Hook
