Analysis of Five Hundred Years

The worst floods for five hundred years,
Greater by far than mans worst fears,
Yet it's not the biggest by far,
Remember Noah well before the car.

Whats the cause what is the reason?
Look at weather the time and season,
Search your soul and wonder why,
All that water falls from  the sky.

Rivers bursting banks and evacuations rife,
Buildings destroyed and loss of life,
Over the centuries nothing like this before,
Countries in turmoil in battle as war.

Surprising the resemblance but no gun,
Also the struggles fought and won,
Some fronts lost while others are gained,
What's the outcome when it's all drained?

Reflect on  life and values sought,
This's a chance to assess what's bought,
Review the importance on tangible things,
And consider enjoyment that it brings.

Morals and character love and peace,
They last forever their benefits never cease,
Money can't buy what we hold dear,
Here there's a message that's vitally clear.

Quarter of a million must leave home,
Rich or poor there's no boundaries known,
Those turbulent waters spread across the land,
Why the devastation it's hard to understand?
