Analysis of Even in the Heavens

Wind in a storm,
the speed picking up
into a first warning
of a nearby argument.
After clouds shroud
every last shining ray,
the world now lies clothed in gray.
The fire begins,
burning up out of sight,
every color adding to the blaze.

Lightning flashes,
and Thunder screams in return,
a couple bound together
‘til death do they part,
an ugly curse for those immortal.
This black mass
looks as though it would tear
the entire world apart
before cutting those sacred bonds
of ethereal matrimony.

Then, at last, the fighting ends,
Thunder hammered to reticence,
Lightning dulled and faded
long after Rain has finished crying.
In their separate sorrows,
they come together again,
this time without dispute.
Thunder takes Lightning in his arms,
whispering cool words of Love
into his soul mate’s fiery chest.
