Analysis of Esperanza

Entity mysterious and fickle,
Hope is for the despondent.
Esperanza O dearest
Why must you be so dissident?
Life is a struggle daily,
One tempts to be a delinquent.
Yet you give a moment's respite,
Believers pine but remain obedient.
Thou art the greatest sin
Released from Pandora's box divine.
Prolonging human torment anew
While we remain sanguine.
Yet you are a virtue grand
Inspiring me never to relent.
Guiding me towards my destiny,
You are a beacon of light.
Sidetracked I do get often
Giving in to despair.
But I am never alone,
Esperanza and me, we make a pair.
