Analysis of Children Of The Street

In alleys devoid of light,
huddle children of the street.
For fear arrives late at night,
to feed on youth's conceit.

Delusion fuels more lies,
when surrounded by the dark.
And hate lives within young eyes,
as hunger carves its mark.

Life imposes physical pain,
mixed with frustration and doubt.
For monsters cannot be slain,
at the edge of burnout.

Their fragmented memories,
are erased by reality.
And dressed in torn dungarees,
they adopt brutality.

Each one struggles to survive,
as hypocrisy walks by.
And it's hard to feel alive,
when you can't laugh or even cry.
