Analysis of Let’s Be Alone You and I

Jyotirupa Sarma 1982 (Assam)

Let’s be alone you and I,
let’s walk in the deserted beach,
all alone...
holding each other’s hands.
Our feet touching the sand,
our feet wobbling in the waves,
hand in hand supporting each other.
Our eyes twinkling
in the tranquil and gorgeous sun
beaming at us.
Let’s be alone and
look into each other’s eyes
let’s drink from Lethe
and forget about the world.
and make those moments
exhilaratingly ethereal,
forgetting about the humdrum mundane life
which keeps us together but apart,
desolated and lifeless flesh and bones
that longs to be unified and alone,
like before, when we were apart but together
by mind and soul.
