Analysis of In silence - Marijana Dokoza

Marijana Dokoza 1978 (zadar)

I’ll surrender my life in silence, in silence I will die…
My dreams will be carried away by needs of others, reasons that awaken at dawn.
Everything that is mirrored in my soul…
will vanish in one sigh of a sorrowful woman.

On my lips will remain all I wanted to say...
No parting, no death, no life either.
I rise in vain, consoled by others’ beginnings…
In my chest I find the same man.

I’ll mention the future when I’m dying.
Restless spirit will soar resisting the silence...
I’ll bring it back even then, without thinking, without hope in which I don’t take refuge.
In the distance music will just go silent,
and people, they can’t even imagine how much desire there is in a woman dying in silence.
