Analysis of Destiny Road

Up with the sun
To greet the new day
Anticipating events
That come my way

The hands on the clock
Insistently on the move
Like a train on the tracks
I’m in the groove

There’s a force driving me
Down Destiny Road
Bearing the weight of life
And it’s a heavy load

Some days
There’s a traffic jam
I don’t let it bother me
If it’s all in God’s plan

I just keep on truckin’
Just like a trooper
Cause in the end it’s
A grand prize so super

Yesterday is gone
And I’m here today
Living my life
Smiling is the only way

I think about
The origins of those smiles
How they stay with me
Mile after mile

The road of life
Yes, it has pain and sorrow
But there’s also laughter
On the way to tomorrow

Guess you might say
To Heaven I’m ode
Just enjoying the ride
While on Destiny Road

DanceOfThePoet'sPen

Guess you could say I'm a self taught poet. I started writing poetry as a means of dealing with the emotions of finding my Birthmother's obituary and grave site after searching for 10 years. I continued writing and over the course of the last 20 years I've become comfortable in how I write. You'll notice I tend to write a lot about nostalgia and old memories. Hey, when you round the corner of 60 years, you start thinking a lot about the past and where you've been. One of my subjects I write about is love, but I try to write of other things too. I've lived on the south shore of Massachusetts for all of my 64 years. But I love all of New England. Aside from writing poetry, I also love photography and have quite a collection of old antique cameras. Baseball, football, muscle cars and car shows are also some of my interests. Not too crazy about Winter. Spring & Summer are my favorite seasons. more…
