Analysis of Never Really Gone

That ulcer
in his
consciousness
bleeding
to be heard
A canker
of a
muted past
abscessing
every word

Cold sores
of detention
that fade
but never
cure
A virus
of his
hopes and dreams
recurring
— untoward
