Analysis of Never forgotten.

In the end,
we’re only ever searching
For a knowing nod or wink
For a little something to keep us
From that awful, howling brink.

Just one nod to tell us that, yes,
“Ev-ry-fing is fine”
Just one look (make a note now)
of hope, filled with stolen time.

In the end, we’re searching
For a way to pass the test
I hope you’re doing well, my friend.

I miss you.

And the rest.
