Analysis of If I am to die

                                If I am to die,

Then let me dress well.
Then let me help my brothers and
                      sisters so they fare well.

Let me make my apologies,
                     For the wrong’s I’ve committed,
To somehow try to get them omitted.

Let me tell and explain that thing no one knows,
Only my postponed but honest heart.

If I am to die,

Then let me take off my glasses so I can see,
Let me stand in the middle of nowhere so
The sun’s light can bathe me.

Let me pick a fight with the toughest gangster,
So, he can understand the reality and hurt of danger.

Let me help a mother with her child,
To lighten her load and possibly bring a smile.

Let me call my father,
And think about the death of my mother.

Let me call that friend that’s been asking for money,
                                And tell him here,
But it won’t make you happy buddy.

If I am to die,

Then let me tell my daughters,
That I have so much to tell them,
About not just man of their culture,
                              But man of all kinds.

If I am to die,

Let me warn the wicked and encourage the righteous.

Let me tell my son, don’t be like dad, be better.

Let me not forget my wife so as not to upset her,
And explain to her, that I should have been better.

Let me take my time and enjoy every moment,

And hopefully in my life

I would have done enough for atonement.
