Analysis of Ode to God #1

Ronald Bunch 1982 (Grand Rapids)

Ode

Oh, God, I love you.
Like the sprinkles on a plant,
You renew us even if we rant.
You forgive us our sins.

Oh, God, I love you.
Like new tires on a car,
You reach us, even from afar.
You forgive us our sins.

Oh, God, I love you.
Like a river flowing,
You are pure and ever knowing.
You forgive us our sins.

Oh, God, I love you.
Humble me like Moses,
And prick sin like roses.
You forgive us our sins.

Oh, God, I love you.
You’re bright as the moon,
And we bear fruit as You prune.
You forgive us our sins.

Oh, God, I love you.
I dance ‘til noon,
And You’re coming back soon.
You forgive us our sins.
