Analysis of The Final Farewell

In that quiet room where shadows play,
I saw her there, where she lay.
A silence fell, so deep and wide,
My heart just broke right there inside.

She was so still, at peaceful rest,
Upon this earth she was a guest.
My daughter, my love, in tranquil sleep,
I couldn’t help but breakdown and weep.

I collapsed upon her, holding tight,
Wishing with all my might…
For one more laugh, just one more day,
Begging for this cruel truth to fade away.

In my embrace, I tried to find,
The warmth that she left behind.
A prayer, a plea, to the sky above,
To return the light of my lost love.

But time I know waits for none,
And I knew what must be done.
With a kiss upon her brow,
I whispered my goodbyes, I’ll see you later left my lips, somehow.

I rose from her, my heart in pieces,
As the fabric of my soul creases.
With heavy shaking steps and a heavier heart,
From her stillness, I had to part.

Before I leave, my hand does rest,
Upon this blanket, soft, unpressed.
A gentle touch, a whispered sigh,
Underneath the quiet sky.

A warmth retained, though she is gone,
In this softness, love lives on.
But before I turn to face the dawn,
I touch the softness once more, and then I'm gone.

Yet in this leaving, I am found,
Her love within this blanket wound.
Though I walked away from physical form,
Our bond through love forever warm.

In heart, in soul, she walked away with me,
For in my heart she will always be!
A bond that death cannot sever,
My daughter, my love, forever and ever.
