Analysis of Dark As Night

julie a still 1963 (los gatos)

As her world was coming apart
when she thought she saw the end
A letter she did write
knowing she would never send

she waited every day
and thought she could handle time
but no one bothered to tell her the truth
that she had created it all in her own mind

taken to a place so out a window she could stare
the bars that held her captive
to her she was not even aware

so this is where she will stay
lost inside her mind
because when its all said and done
love has never healed with time
