Analysis of Hell defined

Kelley Davies 1983 (Dallas)

We all have our various descriptions

Depictions of the realms of hell

For me, it isn't mine anymore

It is yours

There was a philosopher who described hell as others

I was in agreement for a long time

But now I believe I've found common ground with that philosopher

Materialism is hell

And people love things

It gives them a sense of power and control in the inherently uncomfortable position we tend to be in

This universe is not in control

People bother me

They bother me much

They seem to think they know

As do I

Maybe what bugs me about them is our similarities, not differences

We're all the center of our own universes

The stars of our own movie

It bothers me

That we don't get along with one another

I miss the old times

I miss the old people

I miss the times when people could speak nicely to each other

And be polite

Those times are gone

Part of the reason I want to kill myself is the fact that other people seem to be so miserably suffering

And there's not anything I can do to change that

I miss the old heroes

They're all dead now

Hope is gone and lost in that great big wind

Wonder if it can come back

I'm sick, pissed off and tired

Please God, restore my hope

Restore my peace

Give me a sense that things could once again be alright

I can't take this pain much longer
