Analysis of I Wonder

I wonder if the lonely sea
Can grasp your heart and memories

I wonder if the sky of blue
Can see your heart that is red and true

I wonder if the gentle breeze
Can tell how much you mean to me

I wonder if the lonesome moon
Can tell I want you home soon

I wonder if the other men
Cannot wait to get home again

I wonder if the dangerous storms
Can keep you from me even more

I wonder if the quiet night
Can keep you still and hold you tight

I wonder if the other gods
Can fall in love, but what are the odds?

I wonder if the land of the dead
Can hear everything I’ve said

I wonder where you are, Odysseus
I believe you’ve wandered too far

Nevertheless, I’ll always wait for you
Beneath the setting sun and sky of blue
