Its fragrance: pleasantly honeyed, as if it were a gingerbread cake baked on the spot and cherished in the oven, its prickly arms dancing mischievously with toy marionettes and pearl-light angels, its trunk undulating as gracefully as a swan-gallery on a crystal lake, looking for its young bride,

her rainbow-burning gown of electric embers, always sneaking a halo into the sleepy and sooty darkness.So do I like you, dear and beautiful, pearl-scented, honeyed with good resin, the eternal and only dear Christmas tree, warming the hearts of men with the warmth of love.
