Analysis of The Cowboy...the Man Behind The Rhymes...

Robert Catron 1963 (Kansas)

This is a story of a man who loves the Lord,
He lived his life with his heart on his sleeve - like a double edged sword.
He gave all of his heart to everything that he did,
But he never let go of living in his mind like a little kid.
He always tried to do whatever he felt was right,
He'd give it everything he had with all of his heart's might.
Though he's made his fair share of mistakes - He's never given up,
To him his life always looked like a half full cup.
If he loved you he made sure you never forgot his name,
For if you lost him from your life - in the end - yourself you would blame.
He'd give you so much love that you  knew it was real,
He'd make you see things in life in a way you could honestly feel.
He'd change your life forever - nothing being left the same,
For his love was always real - it was never to him a game.
He'd love to make you laugh - for him it brought him joy,
You'd laugh till you cried at this funny minded little boy.
If you were down he'd do something funny just to make your day,
He wasn't really special - that was just simply his way.
He always tried to be a friend - one you knew did truly care,
His word was his bond - when you needed him - he was always there.
He was always his own worst enemy - on himself he was always so hard,
He always seemed to know in the deck of life which one was his card.
So if you meet him someday just don't walk up and try to be coy,
It'll be worth your time to get to know him - the man behind the rhymes - the Cowboy.
