Analysis of The Best Man
Valiantstar 1961 (Sydney)
The best man at my wedding was a very lovely bloke,
Took the role with dignity,
Not knowing me from a bar of soap!
I think back now how privileged I was,
To have this man by my side.
Handsome, loyal, devoted,
His niece for my bride.
Many years have passed,
Listening from afar,
I ask that you find comfort in the bright and morning star.
Love we are given, there is no need to plead,
We can trust in him, where confidence recedes.
And if our heart condemns us, it's no real fuss,
Just take it to the Father, in him we can trust.
He looks after the widow, and raises us from the grave.
Into His glory, into His image we are made.
Bless you, my best man.
You ran a noble race.
May any dirt from this earth,
Be washed without a trace.
