Analysis of The Warrior Poet
Before the battle begins and before either side wins, the warrior poet sits at his desk with pen in hand and a mind sharper than the rest. The day will not be won from guns, knives or violent strikes. Victory will happen with words of might.
Night into days, and days into nights, the warrior poet knows it’ll be a never ending fight. He will not sleep until the battle is over, but he is clever and knows that the war’s end probably will never come. The warrior poet has watched many comrades fall and lay in their own blood while they choke to death. He will defend them against the world as long as he draws breath.
Now the time has come to join in the fight, so he grabs his pen and begins to write with all of his might. His words will cut more than a thousand swords. He will be relentless in this time of war. The sword is not mightier than the pen and the warrior poet will prove this time and time again.
The battle ends with a small victory at hand, but the war will wage on continuously across the land. Even though he is weary with an exhausted mind, the warrior poet will always be ready each and every time. The war is about educating the masses and teaching what’s left out in classes. The warrior poet knows nothing will change overnight so he must continue the fight, but not with violence or a gun in his hand. He must and will fight with his head held high, with a pen in his hand, and tears in his eyes. The warrior poet hopes his words will spark change and help to begin fixing the unnecessary deaths his comrades face day to day.
The warrior poet will not stop until justice is won. He knows there’s more battles to be fought and that the war has just begun.
