Analysis of Still On Guard
For many years I guarded time
When not at home since I
First had anxiety that climbed
Into my life so sly.
Free time for me was hard to find
To do what I felt like.
The same was true and by design
When chores at home did spike.
My inferiority complex
Would often make me feel
A task of mine would soon affect
Ineptitude quite real.
And even now, though I'm retired,
The same is true today,
As if from life I could be fired
Then lose retired pay.
