Analysis of Slain

When the universe sighs
and draws its last breath

and the sound that is silence
manifests

when conqueror and conquered
walk in lockstep

will your pulse a beat diverge
as one who claims her highest worth

not as one who slew the rest

but the shining warrior
who vanquished self

who laid together
lamb and wolf
