The petals of Tulips.
Yes, Tulips.
Opening before time allowed.
When we both were seen,
Daring to pluck fresh flowers to pick up.
Teasing us both to love or not love,
What could be love was not strong enough.
Yet...
You kept this 'thing' for Orchids

And there I had been rushing to strip bare.
As the Sunset arrived.
Leaving me to confess I did not care.
I had been there.
Yes, I was there.
Sniffing the freshness of Tulips.
Before and not after.
The Sun had yet,
Allowed the aroma of petals to fully bloom.
My anticipation could not wait.
In my mind I had no tolerance for patience.

If never you knew this I now to you confess.
My weakness to kiss,
The tenderness of soft Tulips.
With a curiousness to also rub,
Up and down my fingers around...
Their growing bulbs.
And the thickness of their stems!
Yes.
My mind was out of control.
I could not rest.

If you never knew this before,
I could not resist the scent of Tulips.
And rubbing down,
To touch their growing bulbs.
With a disbelieving,
I would and could not ever abandon them.
But then it happened.

I accepted a trip to Arizona.
Reluctant I was to leave behind,
My love and admiration for Tulips.
The ones I picked prematurely to pluck.

To become attracted to the pricks,
I now have for cactus.
This I did not then know,
I would grow to love even more!

Who knew,
What would make me rise before dawn!
To go on.
And on!
As my Tulips grew to feel abandoned.
And I admit to confess,
Life to live to explore and adventure...
Can not be stopped to drop,
Irresistible temptations.
Wherever they may be to start,
Another devotion to profess one's loyalty!
Who knew,
I would become such a hypocrite!
