Analysis of Bullet
John Mellott 1961 (Texas)
Bullet
by John Mellott
I found an old western hat
an old vest with a sheriff badge.
I took an oath
to clean up his streets
of any bad guys that I meet.
It's high noon in the center of town
our fight was brewing
as the town folk gathered round
those snake eye you wear on your face
your gunna wish somebody else was in your place
you drew first
but your not as fast as me
my speeding bullet is the last thing that you'll see.
I wear an old western hat
a dusty old vest
with a sheriff badge
I took an oath to clean up this town
of any bad guys come riding around.
There's gambling in the saloon
but don't you cheat
inside the Brothel
respect all the girls you meet
if you're looking for trouble
I'll tell you where it's found
with our local sheriff
in the center of town
he took an oath
he said he'll clean up our streets
so pray his bullet is the last thing that you see
cause if you break the law
and then you try to run
keep looking behind you
for him and his posse will come
they'll track you down
and hell you're gunna see
cause justice comes quick
at the nearest hanging tree
but if you choose to fight
will let that be
his speeding bullet
will be the last thing that you see.
I wear this old western hat
an old vest with a sheriff badge
I completed my oath I cleaned up your town
I see no reason to keep hanging around.
so I hung up that old western hat
I threw away the vest and sheriff badge
completing my oath to clean up your town
seems I'm the last bad guy
still hanging around.
They thought they drew fast
faster then me
my speeding bullet
was the last they seen of me.
