Analysis of Golden Glue

Charles Edward York 1966 (Saigon, Vietnam)

A broken heart requires golden glue
So strong and gentle
It must be applied with great care
Between shattered pieces
And mend them back together
The kind of kintsugi
Composed of compassion
Soothing hurt feelings of trust
Empathy to enrich emotions
Back to vivacious life
Listening to the sound of tears
Taking a sad song
And making it better.

The shine of golden glue restores
Boundaries that once existed
Building bridges beyond walls
Brick by brick of respect
A mortar of forgiveness
That lets go of blame
Without forgetting the lessons
It carries a scent of strength
Transforming pain into perspective
Coming to terms with mistakes
Through change of behavior
A new vessel able to hold
Liquid ready to refresh called love.
