Analysis of It Is The Dawning
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
It is the dawning of a promising society,
To have achieved notable greatness...
Dimming with increasing,
Bigotry, division and greed fed selfishly...
By those who refuse to accept,
Each step taken to move time backward...
For many they believe will leave them limited.
Prevents those who refuse to accept,
Progress done to achieve it to happen...
Will be difficult to prove this a wish to do,
When attempting to keep...
Acts of ignorance based upon,
Having an absence of common sense.
And minds restricted to the marketing,
Of decadence.
Opens wider the door to a future,
To adventure and explore.
Yet...
Fictioned to delude,
Keeping more from the door of opportunity...
Bestows those opportunities upon the ones,
Who have their existence focused...
On skin color, images to imitate.
And making pretentious impressions.
The very cause and reason,
Their petty beliefs kept to keep...
In competitions manipulated to win them,
Has a society, once thought great...
Sliding faster from the top downhill.
As if children feeling threatened,
By the appearance of adults...
Not coming to play games.
But also changing the rules as to who,
Is more qualified to hit home runs.
Get business done.
With a doing to prove without campaigning.
And this dawning upon the horizon,
Comes.
Regardless of the many mouths open,
Claiming what it is they can do.
With evidence and proof,
Of the overwhelming incompetence shown.
Useless to hear repeatedly to brag about.
