Analysis of Body And Mind

With body and mind.
And blessed to receive,
Attached within us...
An unseen soul.

Each of us to exist and live life,
Done to age from birth to bloom.
Will fade to wither.
Whether morning, noon or night to do.
Not to assume.
Or disbelieve the act this fact.

All of us without exception.
Seldom stop to think.
Forever to live it,
only is repeated in fairytales.

Yet...
The brain in our heads,
Has an invisible mind often abused.
Misunderstanding our bodies,
Much like a car, a vehicle.
The outside waxed to shine.
But under the hood where the engine sits.
Nothing about it remains brand new.
Needing the maintaining of maintenance,
Kept.
Like a child we protect.
With concern to give.
Regardless how that child grows up to get.

And as we age to witness to acknowledge too,
Our freshness of youth...
Has a way of not remaining jubilant.
Or fresh as Spring to hear the elders sing.
No.
Overnight for many it seems,
A disappointing experience to realize...
Those once clear and bright eyes,
Are not as bright as headlights any longer.
Nor is the engine inside of us all,
Stays that dependable.
On the road towards our destination.
Unprepared somewhere it just may stall.
As if awaiting for a mechanic to call.
Or a doctor!

A doctor.
Not a mechanic.
To help us understand,
What inside of us could possibly go wrong.
While denying that aging,
Was earned to stay.
Until with us it fades to experience,
Another stage of God's plan.

'Plan?
What you trying to say?'

Well...
My name is not Willis.
But...
Aging to reminisce a youthful to have had.
Can not be recaptured,
By moisturizers squeezed from a bottle.
Or a can held in our hands.
Attempting to return,
A glow no one has to last.
Aging is a process,
To reject, lie or deceive ourselves.
And...
Regardless,
What is done to stay looking young...
Guess what?

Not a candlestick maker, baker or Indian chief.
Can create to produce,
Anything to return you back to your youth.
That's the only advice these days I can give.

'You know...
That mechanic said the same thing!'

'YEAH!
The rude one who said,
He was a mechanic not a doctor.
That he fixed cars.
Not issues unfaced going inside,
The heads of people.'

Oh?
How old is that car of yours?

'I bought it brand new in 1972.
And he said something I thought disgusting.'

He did?
Like what?

'He told me if I had someone,
Under my hood to inspect on a regular basis.
Even the age would stay purring like a kitten.
But he noticed,
What I needed him to do...
Would take too long to bring that thrill back!'

And...uh,
That is why he drove you here?

'I hope so.
What other purpose would he have?'

That, I don't know.
I'm not into the car business.
To convince anyone to buy a new or used car!

'As if I didn't know.
You are a doctor, right?'

Yes.
Now...
Let's get down to business.

'Say what?
Excuse me?
What is that suppose to mean?
You and that mechanic,
Assume me to be someone I am not!
Here...
This is my driver's license.'

Uh...
How about your medical insurance coverage?
Your age is not what I need to see proven.
Although I will admit,
Your picture conflicts with your date of birth.

'That mechanic told me the same thing.
Then asked if I had money,
Or any other coverage to pay for...
Get this!
The towing of my car.
What on Earth is going on these days?
And...
For my own curiosity to satisfy.
That stethoscope you hold in your hand,
Is for what?'

I may be wrong.
But you did come to me to be examined.
Right?

'I can't believe what's going on.
How long have you been,
My primary doctor?'

Thank you for reminding me,
How close I am to retirement!

'It's always you young people.
Misunderstanding my sense if humor.'

I'm not yet asking you,
To unbutton or remove anything.
I need first to ask you a few questions.

'OH.
I had forgotten how that goes.
Who knew I would be aging this fast?
And don't be in here sighing.
You and that mechanic have a lot in common!
And...
Believe it or not.
This dress I am wearing?
I wore in high school.'

God has blessed you!
And I am a witness to this.
Now answer these questions.
To allow God assist me to provide you,
With the correct diagnosis.
Take your time no need to rush.
I have to step away for a moment.
At my age I realize,
To rely on the advice of others.
Take your time, I won't be long gone.
