Analysis of My shell

My shell is very dear to me,
Like a mother to her suckling child,
It gives me comfort in a world wild.

My shell is very dear to me,
Like a father to his female child,
It gives me security from public ridicule.

My shell is very dear to me,
Like a considerate spouse,
It gives me respite so I don't trespass.

My shell is very dear to me,
And so so bad to me,
It prevents me from living a complete life,
By feeding my illusions and giving me subtle suicide.

About this poem

This poem is a celebration of when I took the initiative to leave "my shell" and contest at a pageant despite having been an introvert since birth.
