Analysis of The Rift of Distance

You know whats crazy,
That when I feel your gaze upon me,
I become glazed by the warmth of the sun,
That not even the coldest winter could distract me from,
You know whats crazy,
I used to think that nothing could ever phase me,
That nothing could ever move me like the tides and the moon,
But when you come to my mind,
My mind’s eye gains a 10x zoom,
Wishing to receive a divine boon,
That will allow me…..
Just one more time,
Just one more turn of the moon with you,
You know what's a miracle
When I look into your eyes,
I feel like I have become some oracle,
Where I see my dreams happening right before me,
Knowing that all future events will have you in it,
Small things, big things, cosmic things,
When I’m beside you, I describe them all as one big series of fortunate events,
Because you make them fortunate,
My heart quakes with the squint in your eye when you laugh,
There’s no mistake that you make me smile,
Yet I think I must describe it in a better way,
So let me put it like this,
To maybe convey some of that beautiful bliss,
All the days before today, me myself and I,
From the past present and future, they smile too,
You know what's a miracle,
No matter if its a nice night out,
Or an early waking morning,
I will always describe you as adorable,
When I was beside you it was like our life was at the crest,
Of a rogue wave, crashing into the world around us,
And the proximity of you causes this pressure in my chest,
Trying to grow the gills,
To survive these thrills
and I’m underwater, holding my breath, holding my breath, holding my breath
………
Because I don’t want to come on too strong,
And scare you away since we haven’t known each other too long,
What I’m most certain about,
I will always cherish the memories we created,
Where time stopped and all of the world faded,
It was just you and me and our divine time that was fated
And my admiration for you grew more immense,
you walk a path leaving behind a heavenly incense,
I’m attracted to you with all of my senses,
And when our eyes meet I gain a sixth sense,
That allows me to see just one more glimpse,
Of a happy life together with you,
That…
will never be referenced in the past tense,

You know whats a tragedy,
That time away from you creates a rift, an open bleeding wound,
And getting messages from you lends me some stitches,
But those stitches…. will need to be continually groomed,
Until once again we can be in the same room,
You know what's a tragedy,
If I go just one day without hearing your heartbeat,
My longing for you becomes a measurement of gravity,
My walk looks like anvils on my bare feet,
There’s an extra noise everytime I find my seat,
Like have I really gained that much weight?
Or is it just the weight of our time apart?
That becomes my lunch that I have to swallow before I can even take my next step
You know what is painful,
Being mature emotionally and knowing that just having persistence,
Will never cure the void caused by distance,
And that….. eventually, it all comes to a stop,
Hmmm , ya know,  I feel,
I feel like I might be saying this in too artistic of a fashion,
So let me come up with an image that I can flash in,
Climb to the top of a skyscraper,
Get your friends and family to bring a piano,
Throw that shit off the top,
And the distance and speed that it falls,
Is fast and how far I have fallen for you,
The sound that it makes as it hits the concrete,
Every note, every string, ripping, warping stretching and pulling apart,
Is the same sound that could be heard from my heart
When our time together ran out,
I don’t know if you felt any pain, or if you had any doubt,
And I was too afraid to ask,
It’s so frustrating to me that even with all this emotional healing,
All this growing, and knowing how to stay authentic
I STILL PUT ON A MASK!
Like I gotta accept it with some class,
No matter what time it hits, it always feels too fast,
And I no longer get to cherish our memories as the present,
But only as the past,
And now I’m standing here performing to the world,
Expressing all of the feelings that have amassed,
Wondering how long our bond will last,
Wondering how many questions I haven’t asked,
Wondering how long I will survive by celebrating those precious memories in our past,
Wondering, wondering, wondering, and wondering,,,,
Blundering about in this disarray,
Because my best way to communicate with you, is my physical touch,
And… if I don’t have that for too long, it becomes too much,
No matter how many roses I pick for you,
Nothing compares to the embrace of your Roze lips,
The touch of your soft and precise hands,
My heart jumps up and I don’t ever know when it lands,
Just to hold your hand one more time,
Walk together talk together,
Let our souls intertwine,
Leaving all the world behind,
Just to enjoy ourselves one more time,
I hope to God that he would be so kind,
To just let me have this moment one more time
And give me the remote so I can hit rewind,
And enjoy this memory,
This small grain of sand in life’s hour glass,
Just…..one…..more…time
