Analysis of Holding my heart in my hand
I caught a ride back to my homeland
After being gone a real long time
When I got home, I was a stranger
Holding my heart in my hand
I went down to my old tavern
Where all the winos knew my name
I went on in, made my order
Holding my heart in my hand
I asked the owner
If I could sing there
Trade some food for a jam
I hit the stage, in my hunger
Holding my heart in my hand
Pouring out my heart, showing my whole soul
Giving al Il got, to give to this world
This is my calling, doing what I can
Holding my heart in my hand
