Analysis of We Share the Crucifix

Ronald Bunch 1982 (Grand Rapids)

Is God a great spirit sower in hearts?
I look at my slow life and see my God
And He does break away my crust I trod.

The crust of sin does fall and love just starts.
Open and ready now. I see my lord.
His face, my face together I afford.

But I can't afford sin. Sowing love charts
In open water grounds where sin is there,
And grisly monsters sleep and hide by care.

I see the twinkling of my heart of hearts.
I see the seeds sown by my God today.
On my now flowing pen to God I say:

“My love to you is much. I let your words
Come through in me. It is selfless and true.”
We share the crucifix. I'm saved and new.

You are the king. You saved me now at odds,
And for without your sacrifice and thee
I would in hell go there now beneath me.
