Analysis of To the loveless you

Joan Anuforo 2004 (Lagos)

We started out good, a little too good
It happened so fast, but I'd thought we'd last
I struggled to breathe within us,
As the toxicity ate between us
You tore me apart from the inside
Bit by bit till I was hollow inside
You drove me insane, I always in pains
Good riddance left me broken, again
It's over now, I break free of the chains of you

Now traces of you still linger
But healing never felt better
These pains, these chains, made me tougher
I wish you the best and even better
I smile now, I'm happy I'm stronger
In the days to come,I know I'll be happier
Thank you, your war made me a fighter
