Analysis of A Blanket Of Dark Clouds

A wise man once told me
To never judge a person unless I walk a mile in their shoe
For truths are hidden deep away from the world
Concealed from view

But I was too busy looking at others
Wishing I could be them
What if I could hold the crown over my head
Or perhaps possess a gem

It wasn't until midnight that day
When I heard their crying voices
Behind closed doors
Where darkness alone rejoices

What a sad reality it is, I think,
My head filled with their painful sobs and shouts,
For even the sky sheds its tears
Under a blanket of dark clouds

About this poem

This poem is about how not every person is what they appear to be. Who may appear the most cheerful and happy, may hide their scars deep beneath. And judging them without knowing their entire truth and assuming that their life is better than ours is a mistake on our part.
