Analysis of Unconditional Love

Keisha Marie Moore 1982 (Washington DC)

The thought never crossed my mind it would end up like this.
I told him I would leave him if he ever again raised his fist.
He hit me once but, it escalated into being more than twice.
A woman like me knows this isn't right.
Unconditional love is written all over my face.
It has even come to the point where he takes what is below my waste.
I am bruised on the inside no longer on the out but, I still get the urge to sometimes scream and shout.
To any women or men who are feeling what I have felt.
Before they hit you again go and seek help.

About this poem

This poem was written in one of my lowest and darkest time in my life. It encouraged me stay strong and to remember the is nothing abnormal about seeking help.
