Analysis of Toxic

Brittney Sawyer 1989 (Bruceville-eddy)

Ok so maybe it's true that f!@#$ with you
Left me a little bit jaded
Thinking about it, a family, a home,  a life of our own
It's really all overrated
You held your composure for so long its almost impressive
If you hadn't destroyed my entire life it wouldn't be so depressive.
But I'm not even mad at you
Because I allowed myself to be vulnerable
Without a second thought
Swearing I wasn't going to let my past hurt leave me with an impenetrable heart.
That I was going to hold my head high
And keep my heart on my sleeve
You secured my insecurities and sold me one hell of a dream
The scars you left I'll try to hide
Bury them with all the others beneath all the lies.
