Analysis of To Do Good
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
The seeds of good deeds did not set me free
But greatly reduced my burden
I like to go out and spread these seeds
Especially when my heart is hurting
Somehow blessing others brings me more joy
Than the ones receiving the blessing
To help out my brother enduring the pain
Of extreme and excessive testing
The trials of life can weigh a man down
If he doesn’t have his best friend around
So, stand by your brother when he is in trouble
And don’t make it worse; don’t make it double
The sorrow he has is sufficient for him
So, don’t shut him out; instead let him in
