Analysis of I NEED YOU

Like water on a parched tongue, I need you
To heal a heart stung
Alas! Looked afar and near, found no one to cheer
but left to cry and wipe my tears

Walking the path of life a lone ranger
In the face of clear and present danger
I wonder if life is worth a wager
Oh! How I need you.

I need you to soothe my aching heart
And show me a new path to chart
As familiar roads turn a danger
And friends become strangers
Oh! How I need you

I need one to lighten my burden
A caring soul that won't leave me overburdened
With love as fresh as the morning dew
To bring alive this heart that’s almost blue
Oh! How I need you

Like the blood in my veins,
helpers I need not pretenders
With genuine help to render
and loving words to tender.
Oh! How I need you.
