Analysis of Phoenix

Samantha K Ballew 1991 (North Carolina)

Broken pieces turn to ash
and from that ash, I rise
completely reborn.

Scars turn to badges of honor.
As enemy voices are silenced,
my sure steps ring victory.

I walk through the wasteland,
following the flames of other
lost souls.

We come together,
stronger than we ever were,
and light this wasteland.

We will be the beacon
In the darkness that
terrorizes the lost.

About this poem

I wrote this after having a huge breakthrough with dealing with the trauma I went through and how I am no longer alone in my journey of healing.
