Analysis of new river

The New river is neither a river or new
It rises far out of town when it was created to bring fresh water from the distant countryside
To Londoners rich or poor
Together they drank from the water brought from far and near

Now it is a haven for water birds
And people who like a stroll
Enjoying wildlife
Almost in the city

At the end is the new river head
Spectular apartments for sale only one million pounds if you’re are lucky
or 50 pounds a week for a flat
Splitting up rich and poor once again

It seems as if we have nothing to lose
Apart from the New River blues
