Analysis of He

Erick Arvizu 1980 (Williamsburg, VA)

You’re taking advantage of kindness
He’s been taken by your emerald isles
Yet he’s out there all alone striving
To lift your day, your night, your smile

He isn’t blind to what’s before him
You don’t see what he’s going through
Everyday he’s fighting an inner battle
Beaten down by his love for you

You’re in love with another man
He knows the truth of his plight
Your heart is given and spoken for
His heart is hidden from the light

He loves you with all that he has
You can still feign your blindness
He’ll love you in his own way
With every word, smile, and kindness
