Analysis of Day After Day
I sit and watch the night sky,
as the angels sing a Whiskey Lullaby.
As soothing as it may seem,
you may not understand what I mean.
I watch her drink her pain away,
while her mind seems to decay.
The angels of hell gather her up,
all the while, she pours another cup.
She waves me a farewell,
and the tears in my eyes swell.
When the eyes of hers drop a tear,
the last drop of whiskey cuts like shears.
Just like that, she's gone,
and the sun shall rise, to bring another dawn.
